CPUT Online Application Status 2027-2028
CPUT Online Application Status 2027-2028
CPUT Application Status 2027-2028: How to Check Online
Applying to Cape Peninsula University of Technology for the 2027 academic year means you need to know your deadlines upfront. CPUT uses different closing dates depending on your faculty, your qualification type, and whether you are a South African citizen, an international applicant, or applying through RPL.
Missing a closing date can mean waiting another full year to study, so it is important to plan early. The Faculty of Health & Wellness Sciences has the earliest cut-offs because many of its programmes are clinical and have limited space, with the first group closing as soon as 30 June 2026. The Faculty of Education closes later, but you still need to submit by 31 August 2026 if you want to study teaching, Grade R, or any of the education diplomas and advanced diplomas.
International applicants and South Africans with international qualifications also have a 31 August 2026 deadline, unless you are applying for Master’s or Doctoral studies. For most other undergraduate and Advanced Diploma programmes, South African citizens, refugees, and permanent residents have until 30 September 2026.
Keep checking the CPUT website for updates because CPUT can adjust dates if faculties reach capacity early. If you are an RPL applicant, there is a separate process you must follow. Start gathering certified documents, your ID, and academic records now so you are ready to apply before your specific closing date.

FAQs About CPUT Application Status
Q: I forgot my CPUT Student Portal login PIN. How do I reset it?
- A: On the Student Portal login page, click Forgot PIN. It will send a reset link to the email or cell number you used in your CPUT online application. If that number changed, email admissions@cput.ac.za with a certified ID copy.
Q: My status still says “Application Received” in December 2026. Is that bad?
- A: Not necessarily. CPUT processes applications in batches. High-demand courses like Nursing and Engineering take longer. If it does not change by 15 January 2027, contact Admissions with your ID number.
Q: Can I check my CPUT application status without a student number?
- A: Yes. First-time applicants use their SA ID number or passport number to log in. Your student number is only issued after a Firm Offer.
Q: Will CPUT accept me if I’m on the waiting list?
- A: Maybe, but it’s not guaranteed. Waiting list movement depends on how many students decline their offers. You should have a Plan B. Check the portal weekly in January 2028.
Q: Why does CPUT ask for “certified” documents, and mine keep getting rejected?
- A: Certified means stamped by a Commissioner of Oaths at SAPS or a Post Office within the last 3 months. Scanned copies of old certified documents are rejected. Upload a fresh scan.
Q: Are there CPUT late applications for 2028?
- A: CPUT late applications 2028 only open if programs have space after main registration. This is rare for Health Sciences, Engineering, and Design. Check www.cput.ac.za in February 2028.
Q: Is there an app to check my CPUT status?
- A: No. CPUT does not have an official status-check app. Only use the CPUT Student Portal on www.cput.ac.za. Avoid apps that ask for your ID and PIN.
Checking your CPUT Application Status 2027-2028 does not have to be stressful once you know the process. The Student Portal is the only official source to log in with your ID or student number, track your status weekly, and act fast when it changes. Understand what “Provisionally Accepted” and “Waiting List” really mean so you do not miss deadlines or lose your spot. Keep your documents certified and uploaded, ignore anyone asking for payment to release your status, and use only the official CPUT Admissions Office contacts if you need help.
