The Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) sends benefits statements to its members to ensure that they are updated on the status and the balance of their pension funds.
Members of GEPF receive their Funds Statement through emails or post office once a year and it can also be issued on request. Members can also check their pensions, you can look at annual pension statements or log in to your pension accounts through the GEPF self-service web system or the Mobile App.
Members of the Government Employees Pension Fund( GEPF) now have a self-service portal and a member only needs their ID number and a password to access their latest benefits statement. Nearly more than 1.267 million members from more than 325 government departments and close to 524,030 retired members and other beneficiaries with 110.1% ( based on the approved statistical valuation conducted as of 31 March) and 2.27 trillion as per financials as of 31 March.

How GEPF Funds Are Invested.
The Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) has signed an investment mandate with the Public Investment Corporation ( PIC ), which is a state manager responsible for investing assets on behalf of the GEPF. The Fund aims to invest responsibly for the long term by using active and passive strategies and following an approach when issuing an investment mandate. The core portfolios are managed by PIC while the satellite portfolios can be managed by specialist managers in their sectors.
What GEPF Invests In
The Government Employee Pension Fund invests primarily in South African markets, while a small portion is invested in the global market outside the African continent.
GEPF primarily invest into four( 4) class categories:
- Equity
- Bonds
- Property
- Cash
